Videographer shoots and creates video content for television, promotions, social, web, and other outlets. Operates and maintains video, lighting, and audio equipment. Being a Videographer incorporates composition and lighting techniques to shoot high-quality video in various indoor or outdoor settings. Utilizes editing software to create graphics, visual assets, and edit footage. Additionally, Videographer typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Videographer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. /DutiesIndependently photograph or shoot video of assigned campus events and activities with a digital camera; process and upload photos. At times, assist the university staff photographer on more complex shoots. Almost all assignments will be on campus.
Days/Hours NeededThe position’s work schedule is flexible. Photographers and videographers will shoot one or two assignments per month. Each assignment will take 3-4 hours including preparation, shooting and processing time.

Required Qualifications- Must be a current SUNY Cortland student
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication
Preferred Qualifications- Own or have use of a digital SLR or mirrorless camera. Some camera equipment is available to be borrowed
- Experience with photographing people for social media or publication
- Knowledge of composition and graphic design principles
- Familiarity with Adobe Lightroon or Photoshop software for photographers
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere or similar software for videographers
Physical DemandsPhysically lifting and carrying equipment. Extended periods of standing, walking or kneeling may be required during photo/video shoots.
Special Conditions for EligibilityMust be able to work independently and efficiently.
