    Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) District announces an opportunity to work as a Research Analyst for Institutional Effectiveness.

    The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) at Lake Tahoe Community College aims to continuously build and support a culture of inquiry and evidence-based decision making. The department supports student success and pursues institutional excellence by providing support and leadership in the areas of accreditation, planning, research, assessment, and evaluation.

    APPLICATION PROCESS:
    After review, suitable applicants will be invited by phone or email on or around Wednesday, January 24, 2024 to participate in a skills assessment. Successful candidates will then be interviewed by a committee of approximately 3-5 individuals; these interviews are tentatively scheduled for February 7, 2024. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview. LTCC reserves the right to return to the applicant pool at any point during the recruitment process.
    COMPENSATION:
    Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $58,697 to $64,785 annually, dependent on education and experience. There is potential to reach $75,119 annually, through step advancement plus longevity when appropriate. In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for extra bilingual (Spanish), masters or doctorate pay.
    Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. Several plan options maintain a zero monthly premium cost from the employee and include full coverage of a gold-level medical plan that, on average, covers 80% of healthcare expenses for a standard population. LTCC also matches 27% of an eligible employee’s salary and contributes it into a CalPERS pension account for qualifying employees. This position may qualify for the telecommute pilot program, which allows employees the opportunity to telecommute for up to 20% of the work week.
    Work-Life Balance: This position is 40 hours per week and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Hours are expected to be Monday-Friday, generally within the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, hours may vary according to the needs of the program. locations. This position is eligible for overtime compensation (non-exempt).
    LTCC provides a generous leave package including 17 paid holidays per year plus 12 days vacation (with the potential to reach 24 days through years of service) and 12 days sick leave per year. Furthermore, LTCC has made a commitment to full closures during holiday breaks and several weekends adjoining holidays to provide employees the ability to take advantage of holiday and vacation usage.

    Definition:
    Under the direction of the Director of Institutional Effectiveness (IE), conduct data collection and analysis, program using statistical software, formulate database queries, design and produce complex tables, graphs, and reports, support assessment efforts, survey development, obtain research information from appropriate internal and external data sources, and perform other related research collection, analysis, and dissemination tasks.

    Representative Duties:
    Collect, analyze, evaluate data; provide recommendations based on quantitative, qualitative, and historical information from multiple sources, both internal and external; assist with data entry; maintain and monitor accurate data files, supplementary databases, and data sets; design and conduct statistical analyses on a variety of data sets according to information needs and institutional priorities and goals; independently conduct statistical analyses using multiple software applications, including graphics, word processing, spreadsheets, relational databases, and data analytical software.
    Plan, prepare and revise a variety of reports for college personnel and state and federal agencies to fulfill compliance requirements and ensure funding; prepare data summaries and other reports for oral and written presentations to various constituencies using software, visual aids, media and other methods; design and implement all phases of research studies, including selecting appropriate research methods, collecting and accurately analyzing data, preparing narrative reports and presenting findings to various audiences; analyze and synthesize data for reporting purposes; present research findings clearly and effectively.
    Be a key contact for employees regarding data inquiries, including providing oversight for the data requirements of all grants. Have responsibility for providing accurate data to external agencies such as the National Student Clearinghouse.
    Design and conduct a variety of surveys of students, faculty, staff, and members of the community; advise and support staff and faculty in development of survey instruments. Surveys include those used in Program Reviews and Resource Allocation Requests.
    Compile and coordinate the publication of the LTCC Fact Book, including economic, labor market, and demographic data and reports on the current status and recent trends in student characteristics; independently design and produce written documents that require syntheses of information from a variety of sources and situations; incorporate that information in a usable format for final use and publication; contribute to department webpage, as directed.
    Provide support to faculty, staff, and administrators in program review, accreditation self-evaluation, and various planning processes; assist faculty, staff, and administrators in the assessment and evaluation of institutional effectiveness and student learning at the course, program and college levels by supplying needed information, analyses, and accompanying narrative; maintain documentation of college-wide assessment activities.
    Collect, prepare, and maintain statistical data, records, surveys, and reports to assist the college in assessing effectiveness of projects and in satisfying program requirements; assist project staff and faculty in developing methods and measures to track improvements and outcomes; collect, analyze, and report data to support grant proposals; provide other support to grant-funded and categorical projects, as assigned.
    Refresh Tableau Public dashboards, update information on the college’s IE webpage, and provide training to employees regarding the use of IE-generated reports and visualizations.
    Enact security measures to protect students and the college following Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines.
    Present findings of research as appropriate to individuals, departments, and committees. Depending on the need, presentations may be in written and/or speaking formats.
    Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect.
    Serve on a variety of District committees as requested. Participate in district all staff events including but not limited to all campus team building day, convocation, state of the college address, senior day, and graduation.

    Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree with coursework in statistics, mathematics, or economics and three years of relevant experience with research and analysis activities.

    Knowledge of:
