Flanagan Security & Investigations Group is seeking a temporary research analyst. In this role, you will be part of team working on background checks, due diligence projects, threat assessments and digital investigations.

Immediate Start through August 31, 2024

The Flanagan team supports entertainment and legal clients with a wide range of investigative services including pre-acquisition due diligence, litigation support, threat assessments, criminal investigations, and intellectual property investigations. The Flanagan team provides physical security services to high net-worth clients which entails identifying potential domestic and global security concerns as part of executive travel risk management.

Position Summary

Analysts will support a wide range of investigation and due diligence projects. Analysts will gather and analyze data from open source resources and proprietary data, and provide insight and work product for a range of investigative efforts. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and requires the ability to effectively manage time, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Working on social media and open source investigation projects individually and collaboratively, collecting relevant information, and seeing projects through to completion.
• Performing legal research and open source research in conjunction with litigation support and due diligence efforts.
• Analyzing proprietary investigative databases and leveraging this data for real world solutions.
• Writing and editing various reports in Microsoft Word.
• Maintaining a continual understanding of the everchanging online and social media landscape.

Knowledge Preferred:

• Social media (SOCMINT) and digital communications landscape, including the ability to operate on and analyze platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Discord, Facebook, etc.)
• Experience with Investigative Data Platforms (TLO, Clear, etc.)
• Familiarity with Legal resources (Pacer, Westlaw, etc.), and acquisition of legal records
• Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) training, experience with data collection and OSINT investigative methods
• Understanding of legal and ethical considerations when handling sensitive data
• Familiarity with the Dark web, TOR Network

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
