    $16.26/hour (flexible hours)

    This is an hourly secretarial/office management position directly involved with the overall planning, coordinating, and operation of the school museum and visitor’s center. This position reports to the Superintendent.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Prepares and distributes communications to appropriate staff members and conveys request and general information from the Superintendent to various community organizations.
    • Coordinates data production and completion of reports as required and/or requested.
    • Planning the installation and presentation of collections and exhibits in the museum.
    • Assists the Superintendent with analyzing work unique data productions, reports and/or correspondence with various organizations.
    • Prepares statistical reports for analysis of school data related to trends, potential needs, and process/progress monitoring. These reports will inform the development and implementation of the school's strategic plan.
    • Provides information to the public on a variety of matters related to the school's museum and visitor’s center.
    • Develops the filing system and maintains the files for the Superintendent.
    • Performs related work as assigned by the Superintendent.

    The incumbent must have the ability to perform the essential functions below either with or without reasonable accommodations.

    PREFERRED/REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
    • Considerable knowledge of office management and supervision procedures.
    • Considerable knowledge of computer hardware and programs.
    • Ability to work with exhibit development, design, implementation, and staging.
    • Ability to apply and interpret departmental policies and procedures.
    • Ability to conduct tours and provide educational programming.
    • Must meet the require American Sign Language competency level of Novice Plus.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective, harmonious, and cooperative working relationships with other employees and the public.
    • Ability to work with the Communications Department to update websites and explain our offerings to the public.

    PREFERRED/REQUIRED EDUCATION

    Minimum Experience and Training: (The following represents the minimum experience and training standards, provided that equivalent substitution will be permitted in case of deficiencies of either experience or education.)

    • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is required.
    • Graduate from a training program or possess work experience that has prepared the individual to perform duties involving routine business communications, word processing and data entry, office machine operation, office procedures, public relations, secretarial accounting, filing systems, and records management.
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn other software packages with minimal training/supervision.

    (Other qualifications and experience, which in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education meet the requirements of the position may be accepted in lieu of the above.)
