    The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for effectively managing all aspects of implementation of planograms in all stores (Ace Discovery / Vendor programs) and customize those as necessary.     YOUR ROLE:
    • Manage, implement, and customize planograms in all stores on a monthly basis as changes become necessary
    • Execute merchandising planograms in an orderly manner to ensure an organized process and maintain safety awareness throughout all projects
    • Partner with buyers and store management to purchase, review and install store fixtures and displays as needed
    • Provide project timelines and systematic review of merchandising progress during all scheduled project
    • Perform inventory reviews during projects, to identify merchandise that needs to be discontinued (such as “X” item reports for clean-up and liquidation) and follow through to completion with the items Meaning correctly flagging each item in the system and properly displaying them for liquidation
    • Shop or arrange for shopping of major competitors as necessary to analyze and update merchandising niches
    • Actively promote increased sales by suggesting additional product placement during merchandising projects
    • Recommend new vendors when adequate cause for change is found
    • Lead or assist with merchandising of new stores or remodeling of stores which may include longer or non-traditional hours to complete
    • Assemble or dismantle visual displays
    • Demonstrate strong communications skills while interacting with all levels of store personnel, buying team and store management team
    • Maintain and update the Merchandising Calendar on a monthly basis to include changes and additions to current projects and communicate such updates/changes in writing to all stores upon completion
    • Attend and participate in monthly merchandise planning and buyer meetings as assigned
    • Attend monthly Managers’ Meetings when requested to communicate accomplishments, initiatives, and concerns
    • During store projects and resets, perform training sessions of store personnel and management team in all aspects of merchandising
    • Regularly update store management (in writing) on required improvement needs and successes as it relates to merchandising/planogram performance
    • During merchandising project/re-sets, demonstrate day-to-day maintenance of retail merchandising and convey that understanding to store personnel, and management staff
    • Basic knowledge of all household trades including but not limited to electrical, carpentry, etc.
    • Ability to safely use common power and hand tools
    • A high degree of analytical skills, and the ability to be self-directed.
    • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment, prioritize job duties to meet deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability and willingness to work well as part of a retail team in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner
    • Highly proficient with Google Products Suite and the ability to manipulate and analyze data
    • Expert knowledge of planograms, store layouts and merchandising practices
    • Be technically proficient in retail principles
    • Technically skilled in basic computer knowledge and software (such as Word, Excel, Email, internet research, Access, and Google Suite products, etc.)
    • Work on professional development through courses and seminars. (Data analysis, inventory control, inventory performance analysis, project management, Loss Prevention, interpersonal skills and communications, etc.)
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Associate degree in business or related field preferred; or, high school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum of 5 years retail experience, Hardware Retail preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years Merchandising experience
    • Proven ability to manage large scale projects in a complex environment
    REQUIRED:
    • Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License with a clean driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance carrier’s standards
    • Reliable personal transportation with current auto liability insurance for operating personal automobile required
    • Out of town/overnight travel working out of all store locations. Reimbursement provided for travel, mileage and accommodations
    • Out of town/overnight travel for industry events (e.g. trade shows) and/or professional development conferences and seminars 2-3 times per year
    • Forklift Operator’s certification or the ability to attain
    • Working hours are typically 40 hours per week. Early morning starts or late night finishes, as work must generally take place before or after business hours as this work is disruptive to the retail sales floor. At times, overtime or overnight work may be required
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
    • Requires repetitive pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, twisting, hand grasping, fine finger manipulation and climbing ladders
    • Frequently lift, carry, push and/or pull weights of approximately 5-20 lbs; ability to occasionally reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift; Occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull weights up to 50 lbs with team lift. Requires the ability to move heavy products (50 lbs) with assistance
    • Tasks may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as fumes, toxic agents/chemicals, and noise extremes
    • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety footwear, safety glasses, gloves, masks, etc.)
