This ensures we will continue to provide quality recreational services that enrich the lives of Norfolk's residents.Department Hiring Salary: $41,187Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating visual art programs and daily activities for youth, teens, adults, and seniors.
- Develop, organize, and teach fine art classes in at least two different mediums.
- Assist with developing and implementing fee-based, fine arts class structure to contribute to the cultural growth of individuals through visual arts programming.
- Safely operate equipment such as but not limited to; pottery kiln, pottery wheels, enameling kiln, glass kiln, sand blaster and printmaking press.
- Assists with the management of daily operations of the facility by scheduling and monitoring volunteers and employees, compiling figures and preparing reports, providing lesson plans, program planning, authorizing permits and collecting fees.
- Market programs by creating flyers/announcements to the community, submitting press releases, and serving on committees for the planning and marketing of events.
- Interacts with and develops a positive relationship with the public by responding to inquiries, contributing to the growth and development of students and volunteers.
- Performs related duties by carrying out administrative responsibilities, transporting patrons, submit and write initiatives, provide input on budgetary spending and revenue generation
Have at least a year experience in art or Art Education- Valid Driver's License.
- CPR/First Aid Certification within six months of employment.
Work Location: Titustown Visual Arts Center, 7545 Diven St, Norfolk, VA 23505
Work Hours: Monday to Sunday; 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.; not to exceed 40 hours per week; flexible hours will apply including weekends, holidays, and special events.
Signing Bonus: This position is eligible for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus for applications received on or after February 22, 2022. The signing bonus will be paid in two (2) increments: $2,500 upon completion of 60 days of employment, and $2,500 upon completion of your probationary period.
