The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) and the Emery Community Arts Center (ECAC) are in search of a full-time, year-round Techinical Director (A/V) beginning August 15, 2024. The Technical Director Audio Visual (A/V) at Emery Community Arts Center (ECAC) plays a key role in supporting the technical and organizational aspects of ECAC's year-round arts programming. This multifaceted position involves providing comprehensive audiovisual technical support, sound reinforcement, lighting, rigging, event coordination, and stage management for a variety of live events, including performances, concerts, lectures, and other artistic presentations. Additionally, the Technical Director (A/V) will be responsible for facilitating visual art exhibitions by overseeing gallery preparation, art handling, and installation in ECAC's Flex Space Gallery and adjacent lobby areas.

Work Schedule: Due to the event-based nature of the position, the weekly schedule will be irregular, oriented around programming needs and schedule of events, often during evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions: Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and using stairs and lifts. Lifting and exerting force of more than 50 pounds requires assistance by other employee(s) or mechanical assistance. Individual forces must never exceed 50 pounds.

Required Competencies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater or related field.
One (1) to three (3) years of professional experience.
Or a combination of education and experience.
Experience in audio engineering, sound reinforcement, and/or live sound mixing.
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience or a combination of education and experience.
Experience in audiovisual implementation and support, with a strong knowledge of A/V equipment.
Experience with ETC lighting boards, digital audio mixers, QLab, and/or Creston digital media transmission systems.
Experience with creating sound and/or video design for theater.
Experience in event work.
Experience handling and installing artwork in a gallery setting.
Staff scheduling.
Comfortable with both Mac and PC operating systems.
Experience working with power tools.
Experience in the implementation of theatrical lighting, lighting programming, and experience with theatrical lighting electrics.
Experience performing live and cued sound amplification.
