Evaluates patients' interests, qualifications, and limitations to develop appropriate employment objectives for them. Being a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Overview:
Counselors assist patients in identifying, maximizing, and relating their strengths to appropriate social, educational (academic and vocation), and occupational goals. Counselors help patients prepare and adjust to a drug-free existence, and offer assistance (emotional and physical) in problematic issues. Counselors will be responsible to the Clinical Director for provision of services to assigned patients and will adhere to schedules, established program policies and procedures, and applicable Federal regulations. Counselors must have a bachelor's degree and one year of experience with substance abuse patients. Must have good skills in both verbal and written communication. At least one year of experience working with substance abuse populations, treatment planning, and the field of human social services to work toward the rehabilitation of the patient community. Strong computer skills. Reports to the Medical Director. Program Director, and Clinical Director. At least one year of working in a MAT program is preferred. Working hours are 5 am -1 pm, Monday- Friday. Some weekends required
