Byron High School is seeking a licensed school counselor to provide counseling services to the students, parents and staff of the Byron School District for the 2024-2025 School Year.
Performance Responsibilities: Responsible for comprehensive school counseling program assisting students in meeting their academic, college and career readiness, social emotional and mental health needs. Responsible to maintain confidential records and provide transcripts when requested. Responsible to provide student and/or parent referrals to outside agencies when emotional or mental health needs exceed the limits of school counseling services and time limitations. Conduct individual and/or small group counseling sessions, which will allow students to examine situations or concerns within a confidential setting. Consult with teachers, parents and other outside agencies, when appropriate, to help facilitate an organized plan to best help the student with their needs. Provide resources and referral services for teachers and parents. Member of district’s crisis team and assist in organizing and coordinating the crisis plan when needed. Assist in development of master schedule and completion of student registration and individual schedules. Assist with building level testing. Conduct/provide parent and student educational opportunities for grade level appropriate academic, career, social emotional, and resource information.
