Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor provides vocational rehabilitation services to disabled individuals in order to facilitate their employment and/or reemployment. Evaluates patients' interests, qualifications, and limitations to develop appropriate employment objectives for them. Being a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist provides counseling rehabilitation services through an aggressive Assertive Community Treatment Team outreach approach in the consumer's community. The Vocational Specialist is part of a comprehensive team comprised of a Psychiatrist/PA, Mental Health Nurses, Therapists, Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Housing Specialist and Certified Peer Specialist. Due to the intensity of the program, some nights, weekends and holidays are required. A valid driver's license is required as you will be visiting the members in their homes.
The position requires a Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or other related field from an accredited college or university. Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling preferred.
