    DESCRIPTION

    • Teach weekly lessons and classes from September-May (all ages and levels)
    • Prepare students for successful seasonal events (recitals, performances, dance competitions, etc.)
    • Consistently and clearly communicate with staff and with parents
    • Attend quarterly staff meetings (paid)
    • Provide regular student feedback through a variety of channels (paid)
    • Invest in the life of the school by participating in meetings, trainings, staff bonding events, and any aspects that support the student and family experience.

    SCHEDULE

    • PRIVATE VOICE: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays between 3pm-9pm starting in September
    • MUSICAL THEATER: Tuesdays from 5:00-8:15pm starting in September

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2-year minimum studio teaching experience in the position(s) of interest is a must
    • The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, the ability to think creatively and critically, and is highly collaborative.
    • The ideal candidate has a genuine interest and appreciation for teaching all ages and all levels.
    • Knowledge of childcare principles to create a safe and nurturing environment for young people
    • Candidates must have effective verbal and written communication, a creative and flexible teaching style, and an enthusiastic and warm approach with students.
    • Candidates must demonstrate skill, confidence, energy, vitality, commitment and expertise in working with students of all levels and abilities.
    • Candidates must demonstrate strong classroom management skills
    • Submit necessary curriculum documents (e.g., lesson plans) as requested
    • Maintain a productive, safe, and enthusiastic learning environment
    • Infuse TPAC values, rigor, and joy into lessons
    • Provide reasonable accommodations needed for the growth and success of all students
    • Supervise out-of-classroom settings such as arrival, transitions, and dismissal
    • Meet expectations including punctuality and professionalism in conversation and in writing; consistently meet deadlines and communicate frequently and appropriately on progress on projects and goals.
    • Reflect on professional practice through self-analysis and engagement in informal and formal feedback processes
    • Ability to teach with and without an established curriculum
    • FOR VOICE TEACHERS ONLY: - Degree in: Vocal Performance (classical or MT), Music Education, and/or Vocal Pedagogy. Familiarity with Speech-Level Singing preferred. Proficient piano skills (MUST be able to play live piano in lessons). Knowledge of Musical Theatre repertoire for young people (and audition technique) and a background in coaching young theater performers.
