OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Communications is responsible for directly supporting and contributing to Company Brand- and Reputation-building efforts as well as revenue-generation (aka “lead gen”) efforts for our two business lines: diagnostic products and biopharma services. Due to the nature of the biotech, Diagnostic space, the role demands a multi-channel, multi-audience, fast-paced B2B marketing approach. The role is ideal for a B2B Marketing Communications Generalist with proven experience in both Corporate-level and Product-level Marketing/Brand/Communications program management in the Medical/Clinical, or MedTech, or Healthcare Diagnostics segments. This position will focus on the delivery of our company brand positioning strategy and lead generation programs across prioritized digital & congress marketing channels, internal communications channels, and external PR marketing channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute the marketing channel mix and audience-targeting across our multi-pronged marketing communications programs, including: employee communications, web SEO/SEM, marketing database management, email marketing, CRM platform use, PR/Media database/platform monitoring and outreach, website design & content strategy and website execution, social media content strategy & execution, congress & events brand presence, support company public relations efforts, support advertising campaigns
- Assist in augmenting or evolving Biodesix Brand Standards – visual, verbal, and experiential Brand Standards definitions – for competitive distinction
- Provide both strategy and execution for our social media presence (Linked In and YouTube today, with potential to add channels in future)
- Manage Biodesix website, including: visual design to project our Brand Standards and desired positioning, content development, optimization, and monitoring; collaborate with internal subject matter experts to create web pages to optimize the end user experience per Brand Standards; execute continuous improvements for competitive distinction
- Identify industry, competitors, or Marketing Discipline trends and insights in order to optimize MarTech and Marcomms investments, channel mix priority, and adapt Marcomms performance metrics
- Continually consider new and creative revenue growth (i.e. lead generation) strategies through Marcomms capabilities
- Collaborate with external agencies, MarTech partners, and other vendor partners to execute programs, to evolve Biodesix Brand Standards, and to ensure compliance with Biodesix Brand Standards
- Establish strong working relationships with internal leaders for content planning and execution for both internal and external channels
- Leverage PR database tool to identify and support applications for “Best of” Contests, awards and accolades; conduct PR/media outreach via this tool
- Measure and report performance of corporate or product-level marketing communications efforts, and evaluate against business goals (ROI and KPIs)
- Contribute to internal Employee Communications efforts such as the Intranet, shared Company Calendar, and Corporate Marcomms’ overall editorial, programming, and event calendar
- Support other internal and external marketing and communications initiatives as needed
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with Corporate Brand Marketing Communications programs, content strategy, events, and customer experiences – the strategic planning, the delivery, and the measurement – across multi-channels for multi-audiences
- Proficiency in compelling brand content and brand experience design, developed by interpreting and adhering to Corporate Brand Standards (visual, verbal, experiential)
- Proficiency with CRM tool, Social Media monitoring, PR/Media relations database tool, and Google Analytics
- Self-starter, comfortable taking initiative and leading multiple projects simultaneously and independently
- Familiarity with regulated industry Ad/Promo Regulatory and Review Processes
- Knowledge of the diagnostics, or MedTech, or biopharmaceutical, or biotechnology space preferred
- At least 7 years relevant B2B science or tech marketing communications experience
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team, handling multiple projects and multiple “internal clients” in parallel
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, with a drive and passion that thrive in smaller, fast-growing companies
- Sales Enablement: experience collaborating with sales leadership, sales consultants, Business Development and Commercial Executives
- Strong written and oral communications and cross-functional relationship-building
- Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and SharePoint
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Business or Marketing required
- 7 years of B2B “high tech” or B2B “science & tech” marketing communications or downstream marketing experience preferred
