HOSTED VOICE TECHNICIAN / VOIP

Michigan Broadband Services is looking for a Hosted Solution Technician to join our team.  This position is based in Carney, MI although you will be required to also work in the other geographical locations we serve. 

The hosted solution technician will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of MBS hosted products and CPE at the customer premises. This position will be required to perform site surveys, interact with customers to develop, and implement the complete Hosted Solution. Excellent customer service skills and communication skills, both written and verbal are required. Customer solutions include both voice and internet components along with customer education on the use of the services provided. Documenting call flow, station, and system programming to meet the expectations of how the end user(s) want their hosted solution to function.  Experience must be relevant to the role or equivalent of competencies required. Provisioning, installation and repair for both CPE and Cloud provisioning functions are required. Tasks will be both on-net, and off-net the MBS network. On-network services are primarily fiber to the business for all customer applications including Hosted IP PBX. This position assists with routine tasks associated with the voice orders, customer LAN and WAN systems.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

• Job Knowledge must be current with Meta/Systems software levels, features, and engage external training as required.
• Communicates effectively for complete and accurate records for the network/databases may be maintained according to Company standards and procedures.
• Installation planning, staging, programming, testing all completed prior to taking the equipment the customer premise.
• Training the customer how to use the systems, products, software, and other items deployed to the customer end users and system admins.
• On-call duties and travel will be required to install and maintain the systems.
• Current Communications Hosted Platforms are META, Sky Switch, and Momentum that will need to be maintained.
• Installation and maintenance of PBX Systems and functionality on customer premise equipment may be required as well.
• Program all PoE switches and prepare the customer’s LAN for Hosted Voice solutions.
• Test and verify all functionality before cutting over the systems to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

• Hosted VoIP solutions experience is a plus.
• Must be able to pass background screening.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
• May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of network malfunction.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
