Journey Hospice is seeking Volunteers for our program!
We are looking for friendly visitors to spend time with our hospice patients. All you need to do is talk, listen to music, play games and spend quite time together.
Volunteers need in West Caldwell, NJ!
Training and mileage provided.
The minimum age of volunteer is 18. The training consists of a mix of classroom and self-study.
Each volunteer meets with the volunteer coordinator to discuss topics of compliance, how to visit patients and families, documentation and what to expect when working with hospice patients.
The self-study consists of reading and watching videos dealing with topics such as dementia, communication, spirituality, and the dying process. The goal is for each volunteer to feel comfortable when they visit.
Journey Hospice does require a flu shot (between Oct March), COVID vaccination, background clearance and drug testing.
