Volunteer Coordinator - Hospice jobs in Pittsburgh, PA

Advanced Hospice is seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer team in one of life’s most rewarding opportunities.

We are seeking a motivated individual ready to take on the 3 R’s in Volunteering – Recruitment, Retainment, and Recognition.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Utilizing creative methods in recruiting volunteers throughout our service area.
• Training – alongside other team members, on the philosophy of hospice, Medicare regulations, and volunteer tasks
• Collaborating with other team members to meet the needs of patients/families
• Actively participating in interdisciplinary group meetings
• Working with HR to maintain volunteer personnel files and conduct performance reviews.
• Promoting volunteer opportunities throughout the service area to individuals and groups (civic groups/churches/senior centers, etc.) through one-on-ones and speaking engagements
• Organizing outreach programs and communications aimed at retaining volunteers
• Recognizing volunteers throughout the year in creative ways
• Communicating with active volunteers through volunteer newsletter highlighting hospice trends, regulations, and quarterly inservices
• Participating in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities
• Developing the volunteer program in collaboration with other team members to meet the needs of patients
• Managing 25-35 community touch points per week

Qualified candidates will:

• Be organized and detailed oriented
• Express a warm and sincere personality
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal skills
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and TEAMs
• Have a PA driver’s license in good standing and clear criminal background check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
