Volunteer Coordinator supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and educating volunteers. Motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Additionally, Volunteer Coordinator evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The WCA is seeking an engaging, compassionate, energetic, detail oriented, highly organized individual to join the Philanthropy Department as the Volunteer Coordinator. Will recruit, screen, engage, track, and ensure recognition of volunteers at the WCA. Collaborates with all WCA direct service departments to fulfill volunteer needs and expand operational capacity through the use of community volunteers. As a fully integrated member of the Philanthropy Team, this individual will be intricate in planning, coordinating and executing signature, partner and supported WCA events in addition to assisting the public with external donation drives that benefit the WCA. Oversees WCAs important inhouse in kind donation drives during July, September and December. Also takes an active role in the promotion of our volunteer program and our events, through participating in the design and execution of social media posts, facebook live sessions, monthly newsletters and mass emails, that seek to educate and engage our community. Occasional weekend, early morning, and/or weeknight hours are required.
