What do I need as a Volunteer Coordinator with McGregor?

• Associates degree (A. A.) from a two-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, and basic internet and email capabilities.

What will I do as a Volunteer Coordinator with McGregor?

• Recruit, interview, screen, orient, assign, train, and evaluate on and off-site volunteers to supplement McGregor and hospice staff in activities, special events and projects, horticulture and care for plants, Tootie's Tea Room, the nursing department, and other clerical areas at The McGregor Home.
• Establish and implement departmental goals and attend appropriate meetings as assigned.
• Develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with all departments needing/utilizing volunteer services.
• Maintain departmental documentation including applications, proof of TB vaccination, a record of hours, evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc.
• Complete report of volunteer activities as requested, statistics, and monthly records of hours; complete newsletter to on and off-site volunteers.
• Organize and implement at least one formal Volunteer Recognition Program per year and nominate volunteers for external awards as appropriate.
