Volunteer Coordinator supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and educating volunteers. Motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Additionally, Volunteer Coordinator evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Volunteer Coordinator (VC) manages recruitment, scheduling, orientation and training of volunteers utilized by the Food & Care Coalition, a local non profit that services homeless and low-income persons (visit www.foodandcare.org to learn more). The VC will manage Eagle Scout drives, coordinate volunteer schedules in advance of holidays, decorate facilities, maintain the agency's needs lists and program supplies, recognize outstanding volunteer service, track community service for guests mandated to perform community service, assist with agency events, and attend requisite agency and community meetings. Additionally, The volunteer coordinator will frequently run reports for the executive director. This is a full time position with benefits.
A primary quality we're looking for in individuals is longevity. We would like to work with someone who can commit to working at the Food & Care for at least two years.
