Volunteer Services Director manages a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Oversees the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Services Director provides training resources and guidance to a team of supervisors to assist with educating volunteers. Manages the scheduling of volunteer workers to ensure adequate assistance for projects or objectives. Additionally, Volunteer Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Volunteer Services Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Volunteer Services Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Desired Qualifications

    • Licensed Social Worker in Alabama (preferred)
    • Education in Social Sciences
    • Strong documentation, follow-up, and communication skills
    • Long-Term Care experience (preferred)

    Essential Job Functions

    • Act as a liaison and representative of the resident’s social interests and to assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the Social Services department. In accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed as the administrator, to ensure that the medically related emotional and social services needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis.
