Role Overview:
The Fabrication Manager supervises a team of welders and fabricators who work on the necessary component parts of a piping fabrication that supports the organization’s production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
· Directs entire fabrication production workflow.
· Oversees interpretation of drawings/specifications.
· Demonstrates understanding of core welding technologies and educates team.
· Interfaces with various levels in the organization and shares information as required.
· Enforces established safety guidelines; promotes a safe workplace.
· Maintains accurate records and metrics.
· Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
· Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops fabrication staff; manages schedules and workflow.
Requirements
· Personal integrity, leadership skills, and communications ability to inspire optimum performance among a diverse set of employees.
· 3 years of fabrication supervision experience in the same or similar industry.
· Must be a certified welder.
· Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
· Ability to drive a forklift.
· High School Diploma or College Degree preferred.
· Expert level MS Office Suite and distribution-specific ERP systems skills.
· Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and drug test where required.
