Wafer Fabrication Operator manufactures wafers under direct supervision. Performs the basic processes of production, such as: baking, aligning, inspecting, etching, and cleaning the wafers. Being a Wafer Fabrication Operator ensures the quality of final product and provides reports to management. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Wafer Fabrication Operator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Wafer Fabrication Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. We have an established and proven track record with the United States Government and Commercial Ship Owners, and team with some of the most respected marine and industrial companies across the nation.Job DescriptionSupervises and coordinates activities of trade workers on an assigned project.RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for assigning daily tasks to trade personnel assigned to him by the foreman.Review, understand, and implement daily plans to maintain the production schedule while minimizing the impact to the budget.Analyze and resolve day to day issues including personnel conflicts, safety concerns, quality issues, and material constraints.Assess areas of concern prior to assigning personnel to a task and review the concerns with the personnel to implement a strategy to ensure compliance with all technical and safety requirements.Submit condition reports either to the Foreman for review or directly to the Project Manager/Superintendent.Hold daily safety refreshers with assigned personnel and maintain QA documentation as required for tasks being accomplished.Attend daily on sight production meetings and report issues, concerns, and daily progress to the PM.Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff.This position will also assure organizational compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental, state, local and federal regulations.The Supervisor will also perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED required with three to five years related marine, shipyard or industrial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Office Software experience required.Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.Additional InformationPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to tour all vessels, piers, docks, and work sites to perform the duties of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. (Ability to view computer monitors without eye strain for extended periods of time).Environmental Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
