Wafer Fabrication Operator jobs in Reading, PA

Hillside Custom Machining and Fabrication is seeking applicants for preparing and finalizing machining, fabrication and millwright estimates based on client RFQ’s. Estimates are to be prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

Essential Job Functions:

· Read and interpret client drawings, weld symbols, machining symbols, tolerances, specifications and calculate costs.

• Attend estimate kickoff meetings to determine the approach of RFQ opportunities.
• Develop labor hour strategies for the most cost effective way to approach the work, (consult with shop in some case). Input data from the drawings to determine labor hours.
• Work with sales department in creating efficient strategies to price RFQ’s.
• Based on type of job, state of drawings and complexity of fabrication, determine the detailing hours.
• Secure pricing for all material required with the best possible yield and lowest scrap.
• Personally deal with clients, vendors, subcontractors, engineers and suppliers in person, over the phone and e-mail while maintaining the best possible working relationship between Hillside and our clients, vendor and suppliers.
• Determine what, if any, portions of the estimate shall be subcontracted; analyze subcontractor quotes for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare written quote estimates based on any assumptions made or exclusions taken.
• Review details of estimate with sales department and advise if there are any delivery obstacles in meeting customer requested ship date.
• After jobs are awarded, work with procurement and production to get the job through the shop as quickly as possible if needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Manufacturing Environment: 1 year (Preferred)
• Estimating: 2 years (Preferred)
• Blueprint reading: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
