    Here’s What You’ll Do:
    External Engagement Strategy

    Research and establish external collaborations for Moderna’s Technical Development group to accelerate new technologies and opportunities

    Maintain knowledge of the fields’ current scientific publications and regularly communicate cutting-edge findings throughout Moderna

    Lead internal efforts and committees to broaden Technical Development’s external publication and conference impact.

    Develop a cohesive external presence strategy for Technical Development

    Accountable to assess new technologies and equipment to improve process and product development that may be internalized within Technical Development

    Develop and foster strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within Moderna

    Technology Scouting & Assessment

    Proactively scout and assess emerging technologies and trends in process development, analytical, and automation sectors that are relevant to Moderna’s current and future business objectives

    Evaluate potential collaborations, partnerships, and acquisitions to accelerate technology adoption and drive innovation

    Work closely with R&D and other internal teams to integrate new technologies and methodologies into existing workflows and processes

    Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory updates to ensure Moderna maintains a competitive edge in the market

    Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
    Degree in Chemical/Biomedical Engineer, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline

    10 years (PhD) or 15 years (BS) industry experience in process, analytical, or automation development with specific experience in external engagement and technology scouting.

    Proven publication/presentation record

    Demonstrated success in identifying and securing strategic partnerships and collaborations

    Strong understanding of the biotechnology landscape, including emerging trends, technologies, and competitive dynamics.

    Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

    Experience in developing and executing external engagement strategies, including conference participation, publications, and regulatory interactions.

    Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a keen eye for assessing the potential value of new technologies.

    Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the company at industry events and conferences.
