Job Summary: This position is responsible to coordinate and maintain the plant's statistical process control program to meet customer and plant quality objectives; to maintain daily contact with production supervisors and line operators to ensure SPC program requirements are being met; and to prepare routine reports, maintain files on all completed SPC data, and assist in special analyses of specific parts or processes as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains and distributes materials required to implement the SPC program, including SPC log books in designated production areas, control charts and overlays, measurement tooling and miscellaneous supplies.
Tours all production areas daily to ensure that accurate, complete data is being taken. Updates data as required and maintains computer files of all completed SPC charts.
Completes and distributes daily reports on SPC log books, weekly reports on the SPC program status, and provides SPC data for Engineering and Quality Control evaluation and for customer review as requested.
Provides training for Production personnel in charting techniques, data analysis and other requirements.
Performs on-going computer based analyses and other required statistical studies as directed, including calculation of control limits, design of new studies per blueprint specifications, and providing technical assistance for problem analysis on field complaints and other quality matters.
Attends meetings concerned with process problems. Prepares related reports and provides technical assistance as required.
Performs documentation of special samples, production approval samples, and assists in preparation of production approval materials.
Maintains routine documentation through daily entry of quality data into the computer system.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area and performs all duties in accordance with plant safety requirements.
Performs sampling and testing on incoming materials, in-process materials, and finished goods.
Maintains cooperative working relationships with all personnel contacted.
Works independent of direct supervision much of the time.
