Wafer Process Technician jobs in Gary, IN

The position will be responsible to evaluate new and existing products and robust processes. Responsible for leading continuous improvement projects focused to minimize cost of poor quality and maximize customer satisfaction. The Process Technician is to attend to all assigned duties and responsibilities and maintain accuracy standards in production in accordance with stated requirements and IATF16949 standards.
RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES

• Setup and attend to the presses for the initial sampling of new and modified tools for production of parts that meet customer specifications
• Define, control and audit molding processes including to include cycle times to improve overall manufacturing performance, eliminate and/or reduce waste and production costs, improve quality and improve profits.
• Make recommendations on process, tooling and material and equipment modifications.
• Work closely with process engineer/production staff/setup technicians/quality/automation and maintenance to trouble shoot process problems, conduct root cause analysis, identify corrective actions, and establish course of action to reduce scrap.
• Participate in APQP process/meetings (Project Reviews)
• Review and control qualification of process changes/documentation to validate effectiveness and make appropriate setup sheet changes.
• Develop, coordinate, and train set-up technicians, to include new and current employees
• Provide recommendations to training checklists for set up
• Follow ISO14001/IATF procedures for set up sheets to meet requirements effeciently.
• Supervision of proper mold and equipment storage as required
• Support production with mold changes and start up as needed
• Maintain quality specifications in production on an ongoing basis
• Maintain safety standards as well as teach and counsel setup techs of such
• Adhere to Adkev, Inc. Policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Mentor all positions of Mold Setter, Setup Prep, Setup Techs and Coordinator
• Work overtime as needed with little or no notice to cover vacations/call-offs
