Being a Warehouse Worker operates hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment according to safety policies and procedures. May view or input information into a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other database. Additionally, Warehouse Worker typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Warehouse Worker
· Set up machinery for operation
· Start machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.
· Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions
· Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
· Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to the supervisor.
· Comply with all safety and health regulations
· Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
· Stack merchandise on racks.
· Stock warehouse with tools.
· Ensure machinery is serviced and functional.
· Check in merchandise and affix labels.
· Match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute them to sales associates for processing.
· Fulfill customer orders.
· Move materials off racks and package them for shipment.
· Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
· Follow all safety codes.
· Place merchandise on pallets or shelves for distribution.
· Record amounts of materials or items received.
· Perform facilities maintenance.
· Sort material according to size, type, style, color, or product code.
· Carry out tasks as assigned by the warehouse supervisor/manager.
