POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator must demonstrate knowledge of wastewater treatment systems which includes activated sludge wastewater processes, solids treatment and MBR treatment systems. This is a working position that includes maintaining pumps, equipment, facilities, and performing laboratory tests related to wastewater treatment. The incumbent diagnoses, compensates and corrects various operating conditions on equipment through the use of automatic control systems or manual regulation; monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; records statistical data concerning plant operations; maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary; charts lab test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analyses and test results; evaluates data and writes reports as required.
