Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager supervises the operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Oversees sampling and testing systems, and the testing and maintenance of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment. Being a Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager ensures staff is up-to-date with all federal, state, and local regulations and environmental guidelines. General
This is a full-time, salaried position in the City’s Water Treatment Department. The Assistant Superintendent will assist the Water Treatment Superintendent in the daily operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs daily adjustments of the water treatment plant based on plant organic loadings, hydraulic loadings, and laboratory analysis. Supervises or performs daily calculations for chemical feed rates. Supervises or performs jar test on chemical dosages weekly and as needed. Assists in logging all testing results and providing paperwork for invoicing to surrounding municipalities for tests rant. Assists the plant operator with all laboratory procedures and sample collection duties, this includes but not limited to daily WTP operations collections, soil samples, Bac T samples, CL2 samples, etc., as needed.
Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the water treatment plant.
Supervises or performs all routine maintenance of the water treatment plant and all pump houses. This includes but not limited to, greasing equipment, adding oil as needed, changing oil and replacing belts.
Supervises or performs all plant housekeeping task, this includes but is not limited to mowing, planting, and general cleaning. Assist on overseeing construction and contractors doing work for and at water plant.
Assists in Monthly and Quarterly MDNR reporting.
This position will act as the Water Superintendent in their absence and will be available to occasionally operator cover shifts at the plant if necessary. They will also share on call responsibility with the Superintendent in the event of an off-hour emergency.
Requirements
This position requires a Class “A” MDNR Drinking Water Treatment License. A Class “B” license with the ability to obtain a Class “A” within one year is also acceptable, however obtaining a Class “A” license will be required to continue employment after one year.
Possession of a valid Missouri Commercial Class “B” motor vehicle operator’s license including Air Brake and Tank Endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required license within 6 months.
Schedule
This position is an 8 hour shift, 5 days per week.
This position will be share on-call responsibilities with the Superintendent.
This position could occasionally be required to cover a water operator shift if necessary.
