Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager jobs in Knoxville, TN

Job Description: Operates and maintains wastewater treatment system and associated equipment, and keeps appropriate records documenting compliance to permit requirements. The system includes PH neutralization, dissolved air flotation, and Plate and Frame sludge dewatering. Assists in site efforts to consistently demonstrate adherence to all applicable safety and environmental regulations. Complies with all standard operating procedures. Performs all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Safety, and Cost Objectives. Reports to the Waste Treatment Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Interacts with site personnel to facilitate effective waste water treatment program
• Works with staff to reduce waste, and process specific chemical usage
• Displays the ability requirement for the physical labor of chemical additions and movement
• Communicates with the Waste Treatment Supervisor on site requirements
• Formalizes systematic problem solving with specified formats
• Adheres to schedule according to attendance policy
• Ensures effective chemical application
• Properly labels containers for storage and usage
• Works with appropriate site personnel to maintain chemical related equipment and process system needs
• Works effectively and maintains good working relationships with all levels of management, customers, customer contractors, suppliers, and company personnel
• Possesses strong problem identification and resolution skills and cooperates with all internal customers
• Successfully manages and prioritizes large volume of work
• Demonstrates strong analytical and good interpersonal skills
• Operates forklifts in a safe manner
• Keeps work are clean, safe, and in orderly fashion daily
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to manager/and or to other plant leaders
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals
• Completes any other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Must pass a respirator physical and maintain the guidelines required to properly wear a respirator in order to perform key job functions as a Waste Treatment Operator
• Excellent knowledge of related process chemistry, and sciences
• Ability to use computers/peripherals to create spreadsheets/documents/graphs/compose reports and presentations
• Able to handle chemicals, and make chemical additions in excess of 30lbs
• Ability to lift up to 75-80lbs unassisted
• Schedule will require working on some holidays and weekend as needed
• One to three years of related experience preferred
• Understanding of the laws, rules and regulations associated with the industry preferred

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Wastewater: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
