Volt is hiring an immediate need for a Plant Manager with heavy equipment experience to work with our client onsite in New Iberia, LA in a direct hire opportunity.
As the Plant Manager, you will:
- Be responsible for leading and managing the operations of the site. To include all safety, manufacturing, purchasing, manufacturing and product engineering, project management, quality, materials management, scheduling, warehouse, order entry & customer service functions.
- Oversee operational decisions and ensure a smooth execution of the orderbook revenue and associated margin as well as capital/ other major projects in line with the agreed annual operating plan.
- Create a safety driven culture and work to continuously improve operations utilizing management systems and processes.
- Drive the Safety culture and be accountable for ensuring the ongoing pursuit of a zero-incident culture.
- Drive day-to-day site stability and facilitate operational growth and continuous improvement through establishing and maintaining robust processes including but not limited to strategy/ business plan deployment, project execution processes, standard work, quality systems, and layered audits.
- Oversee all operations of the site while maintaining focus on the site’s business plan, achieving organizational KPI’s and has full ownership of the AOP results (between bookings and SG&A).
- Work closely & collaboratively with the finance team to ensure accuracy in the financial forecasts for the site and that all necessary actions are being taken in pursuit of achieving the AOP (between bookings and SG&A) – owns site level P&L.
- Ensure that the local team operates in a cohesive manner and is operating effectively at the local site.
This is a full-time, DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience production (heavy equipment) and experience in an engineered to order environment, would be desirable.
- Experience working with several processes (e.g. welding, fab, machining, assembly) and evidence in using gained knowledge in different industries.
- Expert knowledge of manufacturing business processes e.g. Daily Management, scheduling, inventory control, plant layout, material flow, strategy/ business plan deployment, project execution processes, standard work, layered audits, quality systems.
- Understanding of machining & fabrication manufacturing operations.
- Has ideally held the role of Production Supervisor during career.
- Experience running a similar size operation in a complex environment.
- Team leadership and management experience.
- Experience in using P&L to drive the business.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineer or similar. MBA is preferred.
Salary: $125-160K annually
