Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager supervises the operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Oversees sampling and testing systems, and the testing and maintenance of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment. Being a Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager ensures staff is up-to-date with all federal, state, and local regulations and environmental guidelines. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or other tech degree. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager typically reports to a manager or director. The Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Treatment Facility located at 606 Hannah Ave. Traverse City, MI. 49686. We’re looking for an energetic person who carries a passion for protecting and preserving the environment. One who is self- motivated, hardworking and loves learning. Wastewater treatment provides the opportunity to use and learn skills such as pump and motor maintenance and repair, biology, chemistry and much more. A career in Wastewater Treatment also provides a stable income less affected by economic conditions than most professions, the opportunity to obtain state licensing in the treatment of wastewater, career growth beyond operations and the feel good benefit of providing a service to the betterment of your communities water environment. Jacobs is offering $24-$30 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Basic qualifications include: a valid MI driver’s license, Highschool Diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude. Preferred qualifications include: Wastewater licensing, maintenance certifications, training or schooling related to the environment, water sciences, biology, chemistry.

    Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Residence within a 21 mile radius of the Traverse City Regional WWTP (Required).
