To administer, operate, and monitor the mechanical and analytical systems pertinent to water treatment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates and maintains water treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits.
• Activates emergency procedures in the event of overflow or spill of chemicals which would exit the containment area.
• Adjusts treatment levels when below-standard variances are detected. Samples water at exit station of plant.
• Conducts running repairs to equipment, or shuts down equipment for more extensive maintenance and repair, activating alternate equipment as needed. Requests services of outside maintenance vender for major repairs and overhauls.
• Activates pumps, valves, and other processing equipment to move wastewater through the various treatment processes.
• Adds chemicals to wastewater by predetermined formula. Advises supervisor when minimum inventory levels of these materials have been reached.
• Reads and interprets meters and gauges on central control panel, or at individual machines or stages in the treatment process. Adjusts controls as needed.
• Prepares reports and maintains logs on meter readings, test, chemical and equipment usage, and all other recordkeeping requirements.
• Follows all safety guidelines in and around processing plant.
• Willingness to work on a seven-day-a week basis and extra hours per day to complete any ongoing project.
• Ability to climb ladders, and stairs
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Standing and walking for long periods of time
• Regular attendance required.
• Perform any and all duties as required by management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Schedule:
