Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. JOB SUMMARY:
To efficiently perform such work as needed to maintain and operate the city's water and sewer systems.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Installation and repair of water and sewer lines; making water or sewer taps; maintaining waterworks apparatus; operating various equipment and machinery; must be willing to work overtime and be on call at certain times. The desired individual for the position must be hard working and be able to assist the Public Works Department in day-to-day and after-hours work/activities. This is a full-time position with the requirement to work overtime when needed.
Position is non-supervisory and reports to the Water/Wastewater Field Supervisor and/or Field Technician Crew Leader.
