Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Chief Water Plant Operator, performs any duties required to operate and maintain the water pumping stations, water treatment plants, water reservoirs, metering stations, collect distribution samples and participates in related tasks as needed. Assists in water operations and maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Math skills to include the ability to use formulas related to volumes, areas, percent, dosages, and time. Ability to use American weight measurement as well as metric.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding. Able to carry out multiple and semi-complex instruction. Ability to deal with standard as well as occasional nontypical situations. Ability and desire to learn.
