Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Ensure that regulatory permit requirements are met. Handle hazardous waste and assist with general department cleanliness.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Ability to read, understands, and follows written procedures and instructions in English.
- Maintain equipment and operational logs for two separate facilities that process spent chemical solutions.
- Monitor the automatic treatment areas as well as performing manual waste water treatment.
- Member of TPCG-Logan spill response team and may be required to respond to chemical spills.
- Responsible to wash empty containers.
- Conduct facility security checks.
