Sr. Windows Systems Administrator – Sentinel
Tope is seeking a Sr. Windows System Administrator to support the AF Strategic Program Information Services team in support of the Sentinel Information Services (IS) team. The selected applicant will join an interdisciplinary team supporting system architecture, design, infrastructure, and OS level support. Chosen candidate will:
· Provide Systems Administration for Windows servers 2016 and 2019 and workstations (virtual and physical)
· Microsoft Active Directory design, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
· Implement and test software patches and security fixes
· Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new/updated systems
· Develop, execute, and improve documentation for installation, hardening, and operations and maintenance tasks
· Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures
· Perform root cause analysis and resolving faults and errors in systems and apps
Position requires a current Security Certification, fully adjudicated DoD Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance and at least 2 years’ experience (with a MS degree), 3 years’ experience (with a BS degree) or 7 years’ experience (with a HS diploma) with:
· Windows Server 2016/2019 operating systems administration and troubleshooting including command line, networking, packet captures, SQL, routing, iptables, disk partitioning and patch deployment
· Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Active Directory, GPO's, DHCP, DNS
· Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell
· General understanding of antivirus and vulnerability scanning software and SIEM
· Ensure assigned operating systems and applications are compliant with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) directives and guidelines, including Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) bulletins.
· Strong communication and team skills (oral and written)
Other skills desired are:
· Web applications hosted on virtualized Microsoft Servers
· Web Applications that utilize Microsoft IIS or Apache Tomcat
· Web applications that have database connections to MS SQL Server or Oracle db
· Web applications using LDAP protocol (active directory integration)
· Desktop Applications deployed to multiple workstations using SCCM (i.e., MECM)
· Knowledge of AWS supporting large-scale deployments as an administrator
· Knowledge of load balancing/failover technologies
· Knowledge of migrating and/or extending on-premises software to the cloud
· Knowledge of AWS Cloud Platform (IaaS)
· Use of scripting to automate administrative tasks using Bash, PowerShell, Python, and/or AWS Console
