Web Applications Developer designs, develops, and maintains internal and external websites for an organization. Uses knowledge of common web development languages (e.g., HTML, Java, PHP, JSP, ASP.NET, Python, AJAX) to build and expand site functionality. Being a Web Applications Developer creates and enhances the overall website appearance using graphic/multi-media design software and designs site navigation that is clear and easy to understand. Ensures sites remain scalable while complying with performance and security standards. Additionally, Web Applications Developer updates site content based on input from marketing and documents changes in source code. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. The Web Applications Developer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Description
Software Developers with Reciprocity Industries work in an agile environment. They should have prior experience or education. They are responsible for assisting the development team in all aspects of the software development lifecycle and testing, as well implementation of our software.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Writing and debugging code
- Troubleshooting software issues
- Working with other developers to improve functionality of the software
- Assisting other Software Developers with questions and processes
- Attending and participating in development team meetings such as backlog grooming, daily standups, and demos
- Should be active participants in backlog grooming for planning tasks as well as helping to decide on the point value of tasks.
- Must be able to demo what they have been working on during product demos
- Creating pull requests and making requested changes in a timely manner
- Regularly reviewing and testing pull requests
- Continually working to improve and learn new coding skills
- Writing and maintaining unit tests where applicable
- Consistently finishing tasks in the assigned point value and keeping management informed if task is going to exceed projected point value
- Communicating with users who have reported bugs and assisting in resolving them
Requirements
Software Developers for Reciprocity Industries, LLC should possess a majority of the following skills:
- High level of understanding of React
- Knowledge of when and how to use various hooks
- Ability to create and maintain components
- Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (TypeScript a plus)
- High level knowledge of MongoDB
- Ability to make queries and mutations
- Ability to write and use basic aggregations
- Ability to use MongoDB compass
- Knowledge of Jest testing practices
- Knowledge of the Next.js framework
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 1 year of Software Development experience
