Position Summary:

The International Web Developer reports directly to the Director of International Ministries. This employee works as an integral part of both the Web and International Teams, demonstrating a strong grasp of object-oriented programming; experience with PHP, SQL, Javascript, and cloud infrastructure. Spanish-language skills are a plus. An ideal candidate has an eye for detail, creativity, and security, and is a reliable team player who can both drive and assist projects well.

Responsible for developing and maintaining international websites, from layout to function, and according to determined specifications. Strives to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. Specifications may be determined by Web Team, International Team, or Creative Leadership, based on goals of a particular project.

Essential Functions:

• Develop/maintain international website applications and pages per specifications and schedule.
• Integrate international ministry websites with other business processes per specifications and schedule.
• Technical management of the international ministry’s content management system, including application and template development, permissions management, topic list management, etc.
• Develop and perform complete unit-testing of international website applications with Web Team.
• Keep international source code well-maintained at all times per department standards.
• Work with our media team and media-hosting provider(s) to incorporate various media assets onto international websites.
• Regular exposure to international project stakeholders, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems.
• Understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
• Actively participate in international Internet-related strategic and tactical planning.
• Ensuring that international websites maintain compliance with international regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years of web application development experience
• MUST have demonstrated proficiency in the following technologies:
  • Object-oriented programming languages (PHP/non-Wordpress preferred)
  • JavaScript (jQuery experience preferred, React/React Native a plus)
  • XHTML/HTML/CSS with ability to author markup code independently
  • Design, and deployment of relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred, experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB a plus)
  • SQL programming language (Microsoft T/SQL expertise preferred)
  • Web-servers and hosting of websites using Apache or Microsoft IIS
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a fast-paced development team structure, while also showing initiative to work well independently.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred
