  • Overview

    The Director of Web Applications Development is responsible for managing concurrent web and desktop development initiatives, including project level resource assignments, time estimates, and project planning details. Lead development team through the project lifecycle, from concept design to launch to maintenance, utilizing version control, bug tracking, and related change control processes. The Director will also work closely with the other IT management staff to coordinate all IT related projects that affect multiple functional teams within the IT department and will be the lead on the project management of these initiatives. The Director will also develop all policies and procedures related to application development within the Web Applications area.

    Responsibilities

    • Designs, develops, maintains and supports web based applications and other development projects as appropriate.
    • Manages staff and priorities of the Web Applications development team.
    • Develops intelligent applications to automate processes and to increase productivity.
    • Stays technically current on all Oracle and Microsoft technologies related to the programming and database environment at PHC.
    • Serves as the lead for assessing and assigning service requests for web and browser-based applications.
    • Primary resource for support, maintenance, debugging and resolving Internet information server related issues in the test and production environments.
    • Lead person in managing, maintaining and supporting PHC and other affiliated corporate websites.
    • Works with the other IT managers to identify areas for standardizing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes for all development and implementation within the IT department.
    • Serves as project management lead on IT development projects as assigned by the CIO.
    • Works on designing and performance-tuning of Oracle and SQL Server database(s) in web applications.
    • Provides leadership for overall customer satisfaction on all applications at PHC.
    • Implement career-building and mentoring programs for the Web Applications team.
    • Interface with multiple stakeholders at PHC and gather requirements needed for the successful implementation of all development projects.
    • Develop standards of excellence within the department and measure performance of staff against such measures.
    • Recruits management and front line staff within the Web Applications team, including creation of job descriptions, recruiting, hiring, and training.
    • Attends meetings with stakeholders to communicate the purpose and capabilities of the department to ensure effective interface with existing operations.
    • Builds great relationships with key customers at PHC.
    • Keeps abreast of the latest software and hardware innovations that can be utilized at PHC.

    SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Must provide and carry a cell phone and be available for consult or assistance when needed 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and

    Experience

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a business related field is required. Ten (10) years of web/desktop development experience is required and at least five (5) years of supervisory/management experience leading developers is also required. Managed care or practice management experience a plus.

     

    Special Skills, Licenses and Certificates

    Substantial programming experience in CSharp, .NET technologies, JScript, and AJAX required. Developing applications with Oracle and SQL Server 20XX SSIS and SSRS required. Experience with servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and various encryption tools preferred. Experience with EDI, HIPAA and translation software a plus. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

     

    Performance Based Competencies

    Ability to quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of AMYSIS software and managed care issues. Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret and understand technical requirements. Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve systems problems.

     

    Work Environment And Physical Demands

     

     

     

     

    More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, or work in other non-standing and non-sitting positions to install cabling, systems hardware, and other related equipment.

    HIRING RANGE:

     

     $159,860.96 - $215,810.97
