EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assesses needs and provides advice on various internet communications and other forms of marketing; plans, writes, develops, and customizes websites within a content management system (CMS) using a combination of graphics, video, and written material to present messaging effectively and in compliance with applicable legal requirements and UConn Healthâs policies; coordinates technology upgrades and keeps website compatibility with versions of browsers; maintains sites by updating content, graphics, and links; monitors performance and results; identifies and evaluates improvement options; tests website and resolves technical problems in collaboration with CMS vendor and/or Information Technology; utilizes and maintains CMS; manages online event calendar; assists in the development of digital and email marketing campaigns and strategies that drive traffic to clinical services; conducts research and informational interviews, provides technical assistance to the staff, responds to queries regarding website functions and procedures; may assist with writing copy for marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and patient newsletters; commits to continually gaining knowledge of emerging web marketing, digital media, and technology trends; performs related duties as required.Â

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of marketing and promotion initiatives/strategies; knowledge of web design principles and accessible web design principles based on federal and state guidelines such as usability; knowledge of communication methods and procedures; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud®; considerable writing and proofreading skills; knowledge of AP writing style; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable computer skills; programming skills, including experience using CMS, preferably Sitecore® or similar; ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines; artistic and creative abilities; ability to utilize various multimedia tools.Â

Six (6) years of a combination of web design and writing experience.

SUBSTITUTION ALLOWED:
Bachelorâs degree in marketing, communications, multimedia or closely related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the general experience.
Masterâs degree in a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience.
