State Bar of Wisconsin Front-End Web Designer (hybrid position)

The State Bar of Wisconsin is in search of a collaborative and motivated Front-End Web Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is flexible, excited to learn new technology and enjoys the challenge of working in a small IT shop. This person will value excellent customer service and providing our end users with an easy and intuitive interface. Some experience is needed but we equally value teamwork, attitude, and aptitude.

    Who We Are

The State Bar of Wisconsin is a professional association, created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for all attorneys who hold a Wisconsin law license. With more than 25,000 members, the State Bar exists to serve its members and the public by promoting the law and access to justice. We aid the courts in improving the administration of justice, provide continuing legal education and other services for our members, support the education of law students, and educate the public about the legal system. The State Bar of Wisconsin also provides public services -- such as attorney referrals and public education – and supports programs that provide reduced-fee legal assistance for low-income state residents.

    What You Will Love

    • Working with a collaborative, small IT team where you will be challenged, can take on a variety of projects and learn as you go.
    • We’re a vision forward organization that uses technology in many creative ways. We are a Microsoft shop with continual progression in the use of current and modern technology solutions.
    • The people, the culture, and a hybrid work environment! We care about our people, our work, and our members. We value work/life balance and offer excellent benefits and flexibility to support our employees and their families. This position is eligible to work from home 3 days per week while working in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
    • Working with a mission-driven organization that acts with integrity, promotes justice, and addresses systemic racism and implicit bias in the legal system.

    What You Will Do

    • Design, create, and code SharePoint & Kentico website solutions with a visual focus to include website collections, information architecture and navigation configurations, master page and page layouts, content or site pages including implementation of web parts, content types, content lists and site columns, workflows, forms, and retention policies.
    • Plan requirements, deliverables, design mockups, site content enhancements, and project deadlines for new or modified web solutions, SharePoint & Kentico features, mobile-based applications and/or business system tools to increase productivity, provide well-formed UI/UX experiences and responsive customer solutions.
    • Research, recommend, test and assist with deployment of new web technologies, third party solutions, or other web services that can be applied to our data systems and websites to support the association’s goals, improve delivery of information to members, consumers and employees, and increase the websites’ interactivity and functionality.
    • Manage site structure and design to create a framework for all State Bar websites consistent with the State Bar’s goals and mission.
    • Monitor and improve the State Bar’s websites visibility in search engines and engage new SEO strategies. Monitor and configure tracking of web site analytics to get statistics and insights on our customers and their website engagement.
    • In collaboration with the marketing department, create web designs that maintain a look and feel that reflect the State Bar’s brand and comply with established styles and standards.
    • Develop and Maintain standards and security that ensure system uptimes and data integrity for the organization’s enterprise application systems and website solutions.
    • Develop instructional material and procedures and participate in staff and member education and training activities to improve awareness of site offerings and web functionality (e.g. use of web authoring tools, site policies and procedures, content and design style, etc.).
    • Provide Quality Assurance monitoring and customer support.
