  • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES   Work with the electrical engineering manager, mechanical designers and shop floor level team members to ensure that all aspects of electrical documentation, material flow and final quality control inspections and testing are complete. Prepare Electrical Submittal Documents: Ensure standard material cuts are accurate and included in each submittal Epsilon controls – ensure latest controls documentation is included in each submittal Epsilon power distribution – ensure latest power distribution documentation is included in each submittal Prepare Electrical Equipment Layout Work with mechanical designers to ensure all working space clearances are met Work with mechanical designers to optimize the layout of electrical eq to minimize cross split conductors runs Map out conduit runs prior to electrical fabrication Map out pin connector layouts Map out control wiring JBs Instrumentation development: Identify all instrumentation locations in the unit prior to fabrication Epsilon controls: generate and order instrumentation bill of materials Controls by others : confirm controls materials delivery and location Based on electrical layout and single lines generate: Conductor / conduit requirements Control JB requirements Lighting / Convenience Outlets Assist in overseeing Electrical Fabrication process: Work with electrical vendors to ensure that the required materials are on-site prior to electrical fabrication , advise vendors of requirements and have material staged in Kingston for delivery as required Daily checks on material flow , verify that materials are on-site as required Verify that all electrical equipment delivered has expected ratings and certifications Testing & Validation: Ensure all electrical fabrication meets NEC2011 Ensure final testing is complete and documented Ensure the unit as applicable ETL label Ensure all equipment in package has UL / CSA listing Unit Testing – HVAC circuits   Prepare Field Work Documentation: Generate field work document for estimate of onsite electrical contractor work Field work guide to include instructions for on-site electrical contractor / project manager to complete the Epsilon package installation. JBs Prepare documentation of Epsilon Controls: Generate controls points list Generate controls schematics Code AB PLC templates – AB RS Logix 5K Software Generate HMI screens – JACE based software On-site controls checkout     ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:   Accountable for the quality of the electrical design in terms of compliance with technical specifications, and regulatory/statutory requirements Accountable for timely and effective support for request for proposal responses Accountable for timely and effective support to the assembly floor Comply with all departmental design practices and processes Comply with Health & Safety policies and procedures Maintain an excellent attendance & punctuality record   EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:   Qualified Electrical Engineering Technologist 1-3 years of electrical design experience preferred, preferably within HVAC Proficient in RSLogix 5000 – Allen Bradley PLC Programming Software Niagara Triduim – Workplace AX  - JACE Programming Software ePlan – Drafting software Employ a friendly personality, respectful of co-workers and be able to work with individuals as part of a team Able to multitask and work efficiently in a demanding environment Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently Excellent problem solving, organizational and time management skills Able to take direction and communicate with others Able to travel domestically and internationally     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   The physical demands described here are representative of those that are expected for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   Perform work sitting and using computers for 8-10 hours per day Employee may occasionally be exposed to moderate noise levels when out in the plant environment The employee may occasionally have to do some light lifting during the course of performing his/her job Have specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
