    We are adding a IT Digital Business Partner, Product Development and Product Lifecycle Management to our team in Muscatine, Iowa!

    The IT Digital Business Partner, Product Development and Product Lifecycle Management partners with the business to understand the current processes and systems and then helping to define and drive the future state of HNI’s business and system capabilities.

    The position:

    • Defines and helps to develop the new capabilities required by the business;
    • Develops, manages, governs, and helps execute the product engineering IT portfolio;
    • Manages and represents the product lifecycle management area of IT.

    This position requires building strong relationships with relevant operating company members and leaders to understand and determine their business strategies, key issues and problems, and the new capabilities required to meet the business objectives. This role translates those needs into business and IT actions and make sure they are delivered through the technical project delivery process. The successful candidate is also highly attuned to industry best practices within their specific functional area of focus. Additionally, the position will manage small to large projects: assemble teams, assign responsibilities, and develop schedules.

    What you'll do:

    • Build and leverage relationships with internal business partners, corporate enablers, and external partners to deliver technology solutions.
    • Build relationships with operating company stakeholders to complete business analysis for projects and investments.
    • Manage enhancement requests from users within the IT demand planning framework with a view of longer-term strategic vision of operating company goals.
    • Understand the business process areas assigned and become a subject matter expert in the day-to-day operations and activities of those areas of responsibility.
    • Be a subject matter expert on area of expertise including best practices and technology trends.
    • Partner with operating company functional managers and develop strategic focus regarding the applications within their specific functional area.
    • Utilize business analysis skills to develop, recommend, and lead new processes, system solutions, and procedures.
    • Be able to analyze data coming from the business process and its systems and make causal relationships.
    • Responsible for assisting our business partners in developing the business case for a project.
    • Assist in the creation of business use cases, testing scenarios, and mock-ups/prototypes for projects assigned.
    • Manage small to large software/process implementation projects using HNI project management methodology.
    • Provide insights and recommendations from analysis and speak to impacts on the business.
    • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information, develop alternative solutions, and work well in individual and group problem solving situations.

    What you have:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or related equivalent experience
    • MBA preferred.

    Experience:

    Defining the business and system capabilities

    • Must have at least 5 years functional experience in many of the following areas: CAD Management, Digital engineering Items, BOM, and Change management, Product Architecture / Platforming, Products Requirements Mgt and VOC, Product Quality Mgt., Product Compliance, A centralized Product Master that is integrated to the enterprise.
    • Must be able to understand and work across the business processes, functions, and system modules to solve problem and create new solutions.
    • Analysis and understanding of the current Business, Processes, and Systems – from a business, data, and technical viewpoint.
    • In partnership with the business define the business and digital capabilities that align with the business strategies.
    • Experience in identifying and deliver breakthrough value (new methods or processes that provide extra ordinary benefit to the business partner or HNI) to HNI and establish standard work.
    • Prefer experience in PTC’s Creo and Windchill products and the Oracle Product Management Cloud.

    Build relationships with operating company stakeholders

    • Build and leverage relationships with internal business partners, corporate enablers, and external partners to define a deliver technology solutions.
    • Must be able to analyze business and technical problems and lead a team to evaluate the existing situation and propose new system & process solutions.

    Define business investments and projects

    • Understand the business process and systems well enough to document the impact to customers and financial impact to the business.
    • Help define the value of a business and systems capability and which projects should deliver them.
    • Put together a business case with metrics and return on investment.

    Manage the digital PLM portfolio

    • Partner with the business to prioritize the programs and projects.
    • Run ongoing PLM priority meeting to priorities, govern, and provide status on the programs and projects.
    • Partner with the business to build a 3–5-year roadmap of business capabilities.

    Help define, run, and execute projects

    • Ability to synthesize high-level concepts surrounding new work requests into a scope document and set of business needs.
    • Experience in Project management and the ability to work within the guidelines of a project management framework and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
    • Must have experience leading cross functional teams.

    Managing Product Engineering IT as a business

    • Be able to manage, measure, monitor and report to the business IT’s key business metrics around: the business and digital strategy and roadmaps, the digital PLM portfolio, incidents / service requests SLAs, the IT costs to serve the business.
    • Be able to define the metrics and analyze the data around these key IT processes.
