Business Development Manager:
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced consultative sales professional for a Business Development Manager role to execute business to business outside sales focusing nationwide on Local, State, Federal Government, Manufacturing, Distribution, HOAs, Residential Communities, Transportation, Education verticals.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development of a business development plan and strategic industry and key contact targeting.
- Develop a business development team to support the plan.
- Plan and oversee new market initiatives nationwide as well as key regions.
- Participate in building a corporate culture and brand.
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers (President, VP of Sales, Director of Sales, and Technicians) and drive the sales process from prospect through close
- Enter and track all leads, contacts, opportunities in CRM software
- Research the latest in the industry, as well as organizations and individuals to find new opportunities and expand business.
- Actively work to increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Work with and collaborate with Operations on current existing clients with respect to proposal and financial retention strategies
- Identify and develop new markets to improve sales for Local, State, Federal Government, Manufacturing, Distribution, HOAs, Residential Communities, Transportation, Education vertical growth.
- Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Generate quotes and proposals for prospective clients.
- Develop and achieve goals for the development of the Local, State, Federal Government, Manufacturing, Distribution, HOAs, Residential Communities, Transportation, Education vertical growth.
- Work with the executive team to develop strategic and tactical action plans for each new prospect or targeted client in assigned territory.
- Promote a strong understanding of the company and the services offered, as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
Required Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree plus at least 4 years outside sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably with a service product. In addition, we seek the following:
- The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in business or a security related field.
- At least 4-5 years of outside sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably within a Local, State, Federal Government, Manufacturing, Distribution, HOAs, Residential Communities, Transportation, Educational sector.
- Experience in the security industry is a plus.
- A true hunter with a proven track record of excellence in sales activity (awards, top rankings, etc.) using consultative sales techniques to succeed.
- Strong communication, organization, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and successfully multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented sales environment that allows for collaboration with the operations team, in order to identify and resolve issues and concerns.
- Strong experience strategically planning sales calls, sales presentations, and cold calling.
- Sales training on strategic consultative selling techniques.
- Experience using a formal and defined sales process.
- Highly effective leader with the ability to build strong relationships internally with all levels of the organization, as well as manage difficult service delivery timeframes.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Ability to travel throughout all areas of the territory, including some overnight travel
