Web Systems Director jobs in Houston, TX

The Web Designer will design and develop graphical and other creative content for web, interactive and related digital applications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and create concepts that support Farouk Systems, Inc.’s overall marketing mission while ensuring consistency with brand identity. 
• Translate our Story Brand into a visually compelling and functional website.
• Ensure the website is responsive across all devices and browsers.
• Optimize the website for speed, performance, and SEO.
• Collaborate with our marketing and content teams to ensure consistency and relevance of content.
• Design, develop and maintain graphical and other creative content for web, interactive and related digital applications. 
• Design user interface flows, detail designs, wire frames, graphics, icons and color schemes for web and multi-media projects.
• Research and create layouts for new sections/features of web site. 
• Manage design phases of project from conception to implementation.
• Ensure design consistency throughout the entire web site and across platforms.
• Perform development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications. 
• Compile and analyze web analytics reports. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required.
• 7 years of experience in web design, web layout and graphic design.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant web design tools.
• Familiarity with the principles of "Building a Story Brand" by Donald Miller.
• Experience in advertising/graphic design, preferably in the beauty industry
• Strong understanding of the web, mobile interfaces, interactivity, and user experience. 
• Working knowledge of WordPress, Salesforce and/or other modern content management systems.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting in multiple browsers and devices with a strong sense of web design and user experience fundamentals.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong background in typography, layout, composition, and color. 
• Have a keen eye for detail and highly creative.
• Proven expert storytelling skills through digital design.
• Ability to quickly grasp and distill complex web design concepts into user-friendly designs. 
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously and document progress. 
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both individually and in a team environment.
