Website Manager manages the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the organization's websites. Oversees changes in the site's technical architecture to ensure that the website remains responsive and stable. Being a Website Manager manages the maintenance and troubleshooting of related hardware and software and ensures that web administrators comply with established standards and specifications. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Website Manager typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.     The Opportunity:
    Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Website Administrator oversees the web design and development, routine site maintenance, content maintenance and updates ensuring the sites align with the goals and objectives of the institution. This position will partner with colleagues cross-functionally to develop best-in-class website experiences for our audiences, ensuring that all accessibility mandates are met. Our Institutional websites are key marketing channels to increase enrollment through a variety of educational and informational content, and this position will be instrumental in creating not only an informational hub, but an interactive experience.

     

    Day to day responsibilities:

    • Assumes responsibility for University websites (by planning, organizing, evaluating, and developing resources, making recommendations for the overall site regarding design, security, upgrades, and technical issues, monitoring the sites and gathering information from the University to make refinements based on changing technology, user expectations, and web trends, and assisting with the promotion of the websites in key search engines,
    • Creates secure online forms, generates reports, monitors the online giving site, manages access for approved internal users.
    • Helps to assure an informative, accurate, and interesting presence on the web by adhering to University web policies and protocols when necessary.
    • Designing and adding new web pages, modifying and updating existing web pages, maintaining current links, and performing other duties related to web development and maintenance.
    • Ensures coordinated implementation of web projects by communicating clearly with units attending meetings and representing the interests of the University websites and responding to inquiries.
    • Assures the accessibility of all University websites to all interested persons regardless of disability and assures compliance with state and federal laws regarding accessibility.
    • Ensures the optimal look, feel, and usability of the sites as well as the consistency and timely availability of pages released to the site by planning and reviewing the navigational user interface design and information site architecture, working collaboratively with programming areas, and understanding the target audience and their information needs.
    • Works with the Chief Marketing Officer to establish the architecture and design strategy of University websites.
    • Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
    • Conduct regular audits of the Unity website, and debug pages and fix broken links or images.
    • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required.

     

    Qualifications


    Do you have the skills?

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field
    • Course work in digital media, web design or computer programming is highly preferred
    • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in a related job discipline.
    • Proficiency in WordPress or similar web applications.
    • Extensive knowledge of website management, analytics, and design.
    • Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn web content management systems, applications, and tools used by the organization.
    • Highly proficient with HTML/CSS; working knowledge of XML, SQL, JavaScript, and other programming languages.
    • Proficient using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop Experience in Salesforce and WordPress is highly preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Excellent written communication skills, including writing and proofreading skills.
    • Demonstrated visual communication and design skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
    • Strong Project Management Experience.
    • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
    • Demonstrated experience with email marketing.
    • Ability to obtain a valid Maine driver’s license.
    • Ability to function effectively within a matrix organizational structure, maintaining open lines of communication while being discreet, courteous, and well poised.

    Work Schedule:
    Work hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, weekends. Working extended hours may be required as needed andUnity Environmental Universityemployees must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling their responsibilities while meeting the institution's needs.

    Although at Unity Environmental UniversityEnterprise employees are generally scheduled to work at their base location, there are times when travel is necessary and employees are required from time to time to attend events, meetings or work temporary assignment at any Unity Environmental University location.
     

    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping, and turning, and fine manipulation is required as is the ability to use the telephone for internal and external communications.
