Purpose of the Position:
Under the supervision of the Owners, the Event/Wedding Coordinator is responsible for meeting with Clients guiding their floral, plant and décor selections and gathering all necessary information to meet the expectations of the Client for the upcoming event/wedding.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
● Coordinates the initial meeting with the Client/Bride/Groom and others involved in planning the wedding.
● Offers suggestions as to types of flowers, color choices, and types of floral designs available.
● Makes site visits to various venues to get measurements, types/size of tables if needed, and overall knowledge of the venue to aid in the setup of the event/wedding.
● After the initial meeting, the coordinator will draft the proposal with input from various team members and final approval by management.
● Contact the bride to discuss the draft proposal and cost of the wedding to ensure it meets the bride’s budget.
● Works closely with the Events Manager and the Floral design team involved in the preparation of the event/wedding.
● Enter the event in Mercury including all required information needed. Enter the event on the events calendar.
● Ensures special order florals are sent to the Floral Buyer to ensure timely arrival.
● Works with the bride when changes are requested and enter all changes in the necessary documents and software.
● Gain knowledge of fresh flowers and plant varieties utilized for event set-ups.
● Demonstrates an overall safety awareness daily.
● Maintains a clean and tidy work area to minimize safety risks and incidents.
● Demonstrates safe work habits by following proper procedures and protocols.
● Aware of the reporting process for incident/injuries. Reports all incidents, injuries, and near misses.
● All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
● High school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred.
● A minimum of 3 years’ experience with Event Clients
● Knowledge of many different varieties of fresh flowers and plants preferred.

This job operates in an office environment and requires extensive use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.

The physical demands described here are typical of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job requires the ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. The individual performing this job must also be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer.

This position is full-time and requires the ability to work flexible hours during holidays as required.
