Job Summary
We are seeking an outgoing, responsible, and skilled Wedding DJ & Event Host to create unforgettable experiences for couples and their guests on their special day. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional attention to detail and have a passion for music and entertainment. The primary responsibility of this role is to pack the dance floor, ensuring a lively and memorable atmosphere throughout the event.
As a Wedding DJ on our team, you will handle setting up audio equipment, putting on an exceptional show per event specifications, and then breaking down equipment. You will also be responsible for accepting guest requests as permitted and using good judgment on song choices. The ideal candidate is passionate about music, personable, has a flexible schedule, and has experience working as a DJ in a similar capacity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with couples to understand their music preferences, event timeline, and special requests
• Create customized playlists that cater to the couple's musical taste
• Set up and operate sound equipment, including speakers, microphones, mixers, and lighting systems
• Serve as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the wedding reception, introducing the couple, bridal party, and important moments such as first dance, cake cutting, and bouquet toss
• Adhere to music and timing schedule to ensure the event runs smoothly
• Maintain a high level of professionalism while engaging with guests to ensure a positive experience for everyone in attendance
• Coordinate with other vendors (photographers, videographers) to ensure seamless transitions during key moments of the event
• Accept music requests when permitted, within the expectations of the event, while using your best judgment
• Stay up-to-date with current music trends across various genres to provide a diverse range of music options
• Ensure all equipment is properly set up before each event and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during performances
• Break down appropriate audio equipment

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Wedding DJ, MC or Event Host, with a strong track record of successful events
• Reliable transportation
• Exceptional knowledge of various music genres spanning different eras
• Experience working with typical DJ and audio equipment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage an audience effectively
• Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
• Professional and polished appearance with a friendly and approachable demeanor
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
