The ability of our Host Associates to proficiently multi-task provides guests at Hay Creek properties a secure, comfortable confidence that their service expectations will be exceeded.Essential Functions:
- Responsible to meet and or exceed individual sales production goals and to meet all call quotas as established on an annual basis.
- Actively generate new catering leads through outside sales calls and events, as well as phone and email outreach.
- Promptly and cordially handles incoming inquiries, interviews potential clients and obtains function details.
- This position is responsible for achieving food and beverage budget through sales and up selling techniques.
- Meet and greet clients (including walk-ins), conduct property tours, attend bridal shows and promote facilities and services.
- Develop client menus, generate contracts and letters as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to wedding and all events associated with weddings.
- Develop and distribute all communications relating to planning and execution of wedding functions, including BEO’s, group resumes, and room sets according to established guidelines.
- Supervise the overall set-up and implementation of corporate and wedding events. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing.
- Maintain positive relationship with vendors and oversee referral list.
- Assist the DOS with monthly Wedding Revenue Report, 3 month forecast and RFP/Lead report.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of competition and complete a competitive analysis wedding/social venues in our comp set for annual marketing plan.
- Adopt industry trends, tools and techniques. Research available training opportunities and present them to DOSM for approval.
- Maintain effective communication within departments; be responsive to training and issues concerning wedding sales and catering.
- Assist with the marketing budget for the weddings market by analyzing ROI of current wedding advertising and promotion.
- Consistently perform The Lodge at Schroon Lake Standards of service, interact with guests, clients and associates in a professional, gracious and friendly manner.
- Regular attendance to staff meetings.
- Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and nights.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays as required.
Hotel Specific Essential Functions:
¨ Ability to remain standing for 8 hours.
¨ Ability to remain in a stationary position for 8 hours.
¨ Ability to occasionally move and lift up to 50 lbs.
¨ Ability to walk the property and grounds regularly.
¨ Ability to visually survey areas and assess needs.
¨ Ability to remain stationary, viewing a computer screen and typing for up to 8 hours.
¨ Ability to lift, roll, and stretch in order to move tables and chairs on a regular basis.
¨ Ability to move up and down stairs frequently throughout shift.
¨ Ability to bend frequently and repetitively during a shift.
¨ Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity.
¨ Ability to move quickly based on guest needs.
¨ Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information effectively.
¨ Ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
Technology and Equipment:
¨ Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel programs
¨ Property Management System
¨ Point of Sale System
¨ Sales/CRM Tracking System
¨ Various web-based marketing programs
Working Environment:
¨ Hotel property with approximately 120 guest rooms.
¨ Work will take place primarily at the Lodge at Schroon Lake, but will include some off-site work.
¨ Group and solo work.
¨ Practice and observe all safety procedures.
¨ Interior of hotel, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures.
¨ Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
¨ Exposure to various hazardous chemicals
