Welder joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Being a Welder inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment. Additionally, Welder may prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Welder works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     About the Role:

    Responsibilities:

    • Welding and Fabrication: Operate welding equipment to assemble and weld cages, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.
    • Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints to accurately assemble cages according to design specifications.
    • Material Handling: Select and prepare materials for welding, including cutting, fitting, and positioning components
    • Welding Techniques: Utilize various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding, to join metal components securely.
    • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards, making any necessary adjustments or repairs.
    • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries
    • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and perform routine checks on welding equipment to ensure it functions properly.
    • Collaboration: Work in coordination with other team members to achieve production goals and timelines.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain records of completed work and any necessary documentation for quality control and production tracking.
    • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
    • Any other miscellaneous tasks assigned by management at any given time and in any given area

    About You

    We Require:

    • Great work ethic and impeccable attendance.
    • Able to read and understand work orders and complex instructions.
    • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
    • Ability to work outdoors or in open air environment.
    • Preferred – Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
    • Preferred – Experience operating a forklift, especially an industrial forklift.
    • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently.  Over 50 pounds, a forklift or crane will be used.  Must be able to push or pull cart with 80 pounds of force. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.  Must be able to step up 20 inches.
